What is the Eagles
In our Eagles Program, for ages 8-12 (also known as ?Juniors?), self-defense
is the bare minimum your child will learn from karate classes
at our Studio. Our mission is to produce our community?s future leaders through
our comprehensive training system that includes both our karate and character development curriculum.
?Through setting goals and advancing through the karate ranking
system ? our students develop ambition, drive and determination. Through
practicing their moves, they'll learn discipline and the value in hard work.
And by paying attention in class, and respecting their instructors and fellow
students, they'll learn patience, respect and courtesy. These qualities will
stay with them for life, helping them grow into strong, responsible, and caring
adults.? By Professor Beliso, a karate industry leader.
Our character curriculum is so important that it represents half
of the requirement for belt advancement. Each step towards the black belt is
awarded with stripes per month and belts per quarter. Students in our Eagles
Program will be training for the goal of a Junior Black Belt and this amazing
achievement will take approximately 3-5 years based on the individual?s
consistent attendance and participation.
We coach each student based on the specific way that they learn,
in the nurturing, respectful atmosphere that our group classes provide. Each student not only learns Karate but also
?how to learn? while focusing their mind and body on karate skills, fitness and
coordination, and character goals. Our confidence-building Bully Defense
program equips children to consider and respect others, and even to become the
protectors of others in their families and at their schools.
Students that regularly demonstrate the qualities gained from
Karate and have the desire to model those qualities in karate class will be
invited to join our Leadership Teams. Beginning with our STORM Team (Super Team
of Role Models), team members demonstrate and help in the younger classes,
Tigers or Little Ninjas. They can then progress and learn to be Assistant
Instructors and be invited into our SWAT Team.
